These new “Blade Chuck Heads” (also known as Blade Clamps) were developed in Switzerland by Pégas in association with the HEIG engineering school in Yverdon. The studies and the tests demonstrated that the weight of these heads is in direct relation with the service life and the vibrations of the machine.
You can read more from Steve Good on the Scroll Saw Workshop blog. Steve was kind enough to give installation instructions as well. He commented on the bottom clamp in two posts. June 20, 2018 Blog Post on the new DeWalt/Delta and JET clamps. There is also a review from March. Read the Blade Clamp review by clicking here.
1) These new heads, are slightly lighter than the original JET Heads.
2) Vibration will be reduced and the lighter weight means better protection of the mechanical parts of the scroll saw.
3) Changing Blades is going to be much easier and faster
Remember Blades and Patterns - Adding Blades Will Barely Change Shipping Costs if at All.
