The Pegas 30" scroll saw is my 3rd. one. Stepping up each time as I gained experience. I don't see myself ever needing a step up from this one. Smoothest running saw I have ever encountered. I bought the Pegas stand built for the saw. Heavy, sturdy and mostly follow the assy. instructions. Every piece fits perfectly as long they are connected exactly as directed.

The Pegas scroll saw arrived in great condition, albeit with a broken installed blade. The saw is quiet with minimal vibration and performs perfectly. I had to adjust the table to centre the blade which thanks to the 4 hex key screws on the table is a fairly simple quick task. The Dewalt can handle a full 2" piece of stock whereas the Pegas is limited to 1 3/4" stock. Love the dust control built in the saw - works great. One of the best features is that the table remains flat while the head tilts making it easier to control the workpiece. The air blower has a good volume of airflow to keep the lines visible on the pattern. I use a foot pedal to keep my hands & eyes on the work making the scroll saw a very safe tool to operate.

Why is the Pegas® Scroll Saw better?

This precision machined tool features a time-tested design enhanced by Swiss engineering. The Pegas® Scroll Saw features a tilting-arm design that allows you to cut on an angle while the table stays flat. The arm tilts 45-degrees to the left and 35-degrees to the right (because of the dust collection nozzle). The top arm lifts, which makes it easy to top or bottom feed the scroll saw blades. The variable speed control, which sits on the top of the saw arm (in the front near the power switch) allows you to adjust from 400 to 1,500 rpms.

The saw comes complete with the revolutionary Pegas® Blade Chuck Heads (a $95USD value). These lightweight blade chucks grip blades better and reduce vibration. It also features a non-stick heavy-duty thick epoxy coating on the table that allows the projects to just glide around and reduces the chance of corrosion.
