I started building the model in pine, 1/4 in for the cabin is it small for the truck cab as it kept breaking when clamped. The plans stated to use any kind of wood, I think a hardwood would be a better choice.
I ended up using 1/2 pine for the cab, it spoils the effect a little but I can clamp it.
Because I had already built the frame and the engine out of pine I wasn’t ready to start over however I may build another model out of hardwood.
I am enjoying the build and it is certainly keeping me busy.
